Business Advocacy Organization Supports Intermodal Transportation Concept and Encourages Continued Collaboration
DOWNTOWN – The Board of Directors of the Downtown San Diego Partnership announced their support for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, City of San Diego, and San Diego Association of Governments.
The Downtown San Diego Partnership reaffirmed its position in support of the continued, long-term operation of Lindbergh Field, endorsed the concept of an intermodal transportation center, and encouraged all public agencies to move forward in a collaborative effort on the Lindbergh Field Master Plan.
“The concept of an intermodal transportation center located along the north side of Lindbergh Field deserves serious consideration,” said Barbara Warden, President of the Downtown San Diego Partnership. “As Downtown San Diego continues to grow and prosper, it is important to fulfill Lindbergh’s short-term needs with long-term vision. The MOA provides a process for local, regional, and state agencies to accomplish this goal.”
The Downtown San Diego Partnership was formed in 1993 with the merger of two prominent business associations: San Diegans Inc. (formed in 1958), and the Centre City Association (formed in 1952.) Today, the Partnership has more than 325 members and serves as the leading advocate for Downtown economic development, residential living, entertainment, and the arts.
